DESCRIPTION:As part of our final day celebrating water\, rivers and Nature
   in "The Gathering: for water and Nature"\, Professor Veronica Strang wi
 ll talk about book "Waterbeings: from nature worship to the environmental 
 crisis" (2023).\n\nAs we live in a time when water is increasingly under t
 hreat\, and attention to ecosystem restoration urgently needed for sustain
 ability\, Veronica looks at water-human relationships across time and cult
 ures\, using a rich gallery of images from around the world\, including fr
 om the British Isles.\n\nGrounded in rigorous academic scholarship\, her w
 ork challenges us to remember and reflect on how we rebalance our elementa
 l relationship with water and Nature.\n\nProfessor Strang is affiliated to
  the Department of Anthropology and Museum Ethnography at the University o
